1. WHO WE ARE

Dead Famous is operated by Paul King, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). We sell art prints and subscriptions through this website. For any privacy questions, or to exercise any of your rights described below, contact us at hello@deadfamous.co.

We are the "data controller" of the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used. We comply with UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Information you give us: your name, email address, billing address and delivery address when you place an order or start a subscription; the recipient's name and delivery address if you send a gift; your marketing preferences, if you opt in to our emails; and anything you send us when you contact us.

Information collected automatically: order and subscription history, and technical information such as IP address, browser type and device, and how you use our site, collected via cookies and similar technologies (see section 8).

Payment information: we never see or store your full card details. Payments are processed securely by our payment providers (see section 4).

3. HOW AND WHY WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information to process and deliver your order, manage your subscription, and send order and delivery updates (legal basis: performance of a contract); to send subscription renewal reminders and payment notifications (performance of a contract and legal obligation); to send marketing emails about new series and offers where you have opted in (consent — withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link); to keep records for tax and accounting (legal obligation); to prevent fraud and keep the site secure (legitimate interests); and to improve our website and products (legitimate interests).

4. WHO WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION WITH

We share your information only where necessary to run the business: Shopify, our e-commerce platform, which hosts the store and processes orders; Appstle, our subscription management provider, which handles recurring billing schedules and subscription emails; Prodigi, our print and fulfilment partner, which receives your name and delivery address (or your gift recipient's) so your poster can be printed and dispatched, along with the couriers and postal services they use; payment processors (such as Shopify Payments and PayPal), which handle your payment securely; and email service providers, to send order notifications and, if you have opted in, marketing emails.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

5. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS

Some of our service providers (including Shopify and Appstle) store or process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where this happens, transfers are protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

6. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION

Order and transaction records: 6 years after the tax year of the transaction, as required for UK tax purposes. Subscription account details: while your subscription is active, then in line with the retention period above. Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Correspondence: up to 2 years after our last contact.

7. YOUR RIGHTS

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct inaccurate information; delete your information (in certain circumstances); restrict or object to how we use it; data portability (receive your data in a usable format); and withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent (for example, marketing emails).

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@deadfamous.co We will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, though we would appreciate the chance to resolve any concern first.

8. COOKIES

Our site uses cookies to make the shop work (for example, keeping items in your basket and processing checkout), to remember your preferences, and to understand how visitors use the site. Essential cookies are always active; you can manage other cookies through your browser settings or the cookie preferences on our site.

9. CHILDREN

Our products are intended for purchase by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page, with the date of the last update shown at the top.
